    Default Team #17

Hi everyone! I didn't find another thread for our team, so forgive me if I missed it!

Any ideas on what we should call ourselves??

Also just wondering when everyone's seasons start. I am hunting in Maine and I got season A, so I will be hunting May 2, 2005 - May 7, 2005, and May 23, 2005 - May 28, 2005 and if that doesn't do the trick I have from May 30, 2005 - June 4, 2005. The turkeys are very plentiful here, so it should be a good season!

    Good luck to everyone!

I have no idea for names but will do some brain stormin. Our season here in MO opens on April 18th I think.....or maybe the 19th....can't remember for sure.

How long have ya'll been hunting? how many birds do ya have under your belt? I been hunting for 15 years.....and I have no idea how many birds I've gotten. I didn't kill any til I was 15....and have only gone one season since then without a bird. Then there were some seasons where I got 2. I'd guess between 10-15 so far.

Good luck to all....and everyone keep checkin in with details/news about your season!

This is the first time I have been drawn for the turkey hunt, so no birds under this belt! But I do have a very experienced turkey hunter that will be calling for me and there are lots of birds around so I am not worried about not getting a bird. Now to get a BIG one! LOL

    My season is April 15 - May 5, 2005
I have only been hunting for 3 years and got one my second season. However, I've been watching 15 toms work the fields everyday for the past two months. If they keep it up and don't change their patterns I should have one no problem! As for names, doesn't matter to me.

Hmmmm I came up with the names for my last 2 teams....and we lost. Maybe someone else should this year?!?!

Doublebeards or doublespurs is the only one I can think of off the top of my head anyway. My creative side stayed in bed today I think. What do ya'll have in mind?

Bosscallers sounds good to me. I was thinkin somethin along those lines......Mouthy Monarchs??? Figured it wouldn't hurt to name our team after the type of bird we all are goin for. Ya know....one of those big, old, fat, rope bearded, sharp spurred gobblers that has a bad case of loud mouth!!!!! Wouldn't that be great!!!

Ok....whatever everyone decides is fine with me. I don't know about the rest of you guys....but I know my hunting is much better than my creativeness. Which is good cuz if I had to survive on my creative skills....I'd starve for sure

OK!! I took some pictures the other day and if I ever figure out how to get them onto my computer I'll show you the birds I'm after.....I'd say there was 200+ birds in the pic.

Hey teacher can't wait to see those pics for sure....sounds like you have a sweet set-up.

We need to nail down a team name. I see that alot of other teams have done that already. Whatever it is is fine with me.

I went out and did a little scouting this past weekend. Saw a few birds including a few longbeards. On the way to work tonight I took the back roads....and saw 4 different flocks of turkeys in the fields. Not one longbeard in with the hens....not any strutting at all. Looks like the peak of the season will be a few weeks off yet. The toms I did see on my scouting trip were still grouped up....and not paying any attention to the hens. Just thought I'd give an update

Haven't heard anything out of my team members for awhile....just wondered how things are goin with you guys?
I've been out scouting and getting things ready. I've got 3 longbeard pattered pretty good. Should be exciting opening morning if the weather holds out. Its 70 and sunny today...gonna make another scouting trip here tonight.

I haven't gotten out to do much scouting....but in my defense the snow has just gotten to a level where I can walk through it without too much effort. This weekend is going to be all rain, so it is looking like it will be at least another week until I get out.

On the bright side, I have been seeing LOTS of turkeys out and about so it should be a good season!
