It's so simple, isn't it Tom. Most men overlook it because it is so simple.
All we need to do is believe, that we are the sinner Jesus died for. Be willing to turn from our sins and believe that Jesus rose from the dead and we will be saved.
All men everywhere feel that there must be more to it. There must be something we have to do to earn our salvation.
Jesus said that we are saved by faith, not by works lest any man should boast.
If we do good things in Jesus name as believers, it is not to earn our salvation. We work because we are already saved, through faith in what Jeus has already done.
Jesus did for us, what we could not do for ourselves, when he took the sins of the world upon himself, was crucified in our place, buried and rose from the dead, and all we need to do is believe.
    Awesome !

Hey guys. I have to agree with you yb14. If I didn't know Jesus at all right now, life just wouldnt have any meaning. But it does now and it's the best thing to happen to me.

It is great to see members, young and old, replying to this topic........

My families life was a mess before we brought the Lord into our lives.......we now have three lovely daughters and things have definitely made a turn in the right direction......praise be to God...

I like the part about being perfect in God's eyes.......I know I'm not free of sin, not as faithful to him as I should....but I try, and I always know where to turn....it's comforting...

Amen to every one of these posts!! It has made my day to read this. Sometimes I feel lonesome, with only God being on my side, and then I read a post like this and feel like I just gained 20 brothers to my family! God bless you all!! MJ

Time for a revival....LOL This post needs to be brought back to the top....and what better way then with a question....

Does you congregation have a Youth Pastor as well as your churches regular Pastor ??

The reason I ask, is in our small town (900-1000) there is not much for the youth to do.....the city board has finally gotten a little more involved and is in the finishing stages of building them a skateboard park........but so many of them need and long for Christ in their lives........with such a small town and tons of parents that fill the 4 bars (yes 4) every weekend, our congregation felt it was a good idea to bring aboard a youth pastor to try and reach these youngsters.............he starts this coming Sunday.........I can't wait, and neither can my little ones..... iminrut- I can't explain to you the difference some youth pastors meant to me, when I was in high school (and to this day I remember well) we had a non-denominational christian organization called "Young Life" come into our school. Several particular names come to mind, however these people showed "cool kids" that it was alright to believe in God and his only be-gotten son, and this still holds a place in my heart, some of the "youngsters" that will come in leave a completly indelible mark on kids! I remember many a great story, I won't get into it here, but indeed they help!
Good for your community and good for you for posting it. I am at loss for words the thing that I had fun learning about. Your kids will have a great time and a mark will be left upon them! Just let the kids find it for themselves, because the youth ministers that come in mean more to a kid then a parent will ever know. Good for your community, and good for you being excited!

I appologize for taking a second post, but after seeing that this was brought to the top again I have plug to make. MNarcher is a guy whom means what he says. If you want to be overwhelmed and yet understood, send him an email. I am a hunter, a fisher, and an outdoorsmen and MNarcher has showed me that being me is o.k. I think he has so much to offer (he is the one who showed me this site) just visit with him and he maked your irrationonability towards the outdoors make sense. He once told me "I never understood how you could spend so much time hunting and fishing, but now I see. That is where God talks to you, and he is leading you, and he thanks you for following because he knows when you are in the outdoors he has your attention." Let me tell you, he hit the nail on the head! Enough for now, but this guy is a guy who will help you however he can. Need a shirt? He'll give you the one off his back!

    The family altar.....alters the family.

Isn't it amazing how truly wonderful God is?? He has done so many great things in my life. I'm so glad that I know that if I never meet any of ya'll on this earth....we'll meet face to face in Heaven. Man I sit here and am in awe thinking of the things that God has done for me. The blessings I've received when I didn't deserve anything. He's so helped fill voids in my life. Its such a comfort to know that when I'm troubled about somethin I can sit down and pray and talk to God about it. I get such an amazing peace from Him. And then to share the many great times in my life with Him as well. I am truly blessed!!!!

To change the direction a little, I have been keeping a close eye on a topic at one of my other favortie web sites......ArcheryTalk.com........and watching a debate between non-beleivers and God's own.

It is truely amazing the things that the non-beleivers can come up with, it must be a long and lonely life for them.....endless searching for the inner piece, love, comfort and grace......that is literally right in front of them, yet they are to blind to see.......

Here is a link to that discussion..... "Who Is This Man Called Jesus ?"
