    Default surehsots rifle season!!

I started huntign coyotes last week, got 3 saterday one thursad after work and 2 today! I hit another one but lost him in a 50-60 acre slough, I knwo the shot was good he just made it prob 50 yards but in the cattails neck high could not find him, found some blood but not much must of been a high lung shot!! that was the first one, the secoed one I was calling a fenceline with great country all around, I see a coyote bootign over a hill about 400 yards away, then next second see him running down a draw towards me at full blast 100 yards awy!I barked no stopping him, he got into soem taller weeds and I could not get a opening, then he got downwind and was about to boot across the field when I ahd a 5 yards opeing, at full blastat 75 yards all i coudl see was fur flying anfd him tumbling!!I just got doen skinning him out and for soem reason the 55 gr hollowpoint expanded as soon as it hit the fur did not penetrate!!Blew a fist size hole in the bottom of his neck, will be alot of sewign but no big deal, really nice hide!! the next few stands were uneventfull as the wind really got up, as I was walkign into a stand about 10 seeing i only had 1/2 hour to get to a vollyball game and 5 miles to dribve I could not get far from the truck! I went abotu 200 yards from the truck and started to call!within 2 minutes a coyote was heading right toward the truck,he stopped on the hill beside the truckand stood there lokking at the truck! The only chance I had was a 300 yard shot facing me, the wind was not really bad in the draw so i put the crosshaird on his ears and pulled the trigger,he dropped like a ton of bricks!!I put the bullet right through his nose, it dropped about 3-4" just what it is supposed to do!! I cannot believ how I am shootign so early in the season!! Feels good to have the confidence up befroe rifle deer season in 2 weeks! Up to 6 coyotes so far only 122 to meet last years mark, don't think I will do it couse I started abotu 3 weeks earlier last year, but who knows,I am taking the whole second week off of whitetail season and if I fill out I can hutn coyotes hard for a few days,I shoudl ahve no problem gettting 2-3 a day if weather permits,I had abotu 55 by x-mas lastt year so we will see how it all goes!!

No steve, ml and archery closed today, I ahve one doe and the daughter has 2 mule doe tags that we can start to hunt on nov 8 and then on nov 16 our rifle deer season opens we each have a either sex tag for whitetail! Not to exited abotu it, going to be a skunked year I think for big deer, theya re out there but with all the poachign goin on thsi year with no warden around and with all the standing crop and no snow they will be out in the fields instead of the edges liek usuall, really hard to see them bedded in a pasture when they hacve thoasands of acres of 3'ft crop standign a few miles away!!Oh well I too the whole second week off to hunt with my brother who si coming down, should eb fun been a few eyars!!
