    Smile razortec_hunter's 2008 journal!

Hey yall!! my season started september 15th here in nebraska and i already have a story!!, as some of you know i woke up at 5 in the morning to go hunting on september 15th well i was feeling kinda sick so i decided not to go for a couple days and here it is september 17th and i decided to go out this morning! here's the hunt!!,

i got in my stand near the corner of a corn field and some cedar thickets right around 6:00 am, it was still dark out as i unpacked all my gear and nocked my arrow, right around 6:30 i was able to see well enough to shoot so i started watching very carefully, about 6:50 a doe blew past my stand at 20 yards to my right, there was a big cedar in my way so i couldn't shoot bumed out about that i kept on stand watching hoping to get another chance, about 7:45 a big adult doe came past 10 yards broadside infront of me with her 2 fawns, the whole time she was looking straight at me in my tripod stand that was put up about 2 weeks before, the doe kept walking to 70 yards thewhole time glancing back over at me, i wasn't ever able to draw my bow but it was still a good encounter,
oh well maybe tonight or tomorrow

well i went out again tonight and sat in a homemade ground blind i'd made about a month ago, didn't see any deer but i had a skunk at 10 yards lol but i didn't exactly wana shoot that if ya know what i mean

i really have high hopes for the ground blind set up for late season, last year herds of 20 deer walked past the tree i put it by every morning!!
