Bow Season starts Oct 1st. I have three lock ons in place. The deer are shedding their velvet already. Found 6 new rubs on saplings last weekend. I have not been to my honey whole and won't until early Nov. Planning on taking a doe early and waiting on a nice buck the rest o f the season. Things are looking pretty good. Heading to the UP Sept 17th to check on my stands and clear shooting lanes. Good luck team #14

Bow season opens for me on Oct. 15th here in louisiana. I'm allowed to take up to 6 deer. Last yr i harvest a 6 pt, 8 pt, and a doe. It has always opened on the 1st of october but they moved it back this yr which added on two weeeks to the end up the season which alows us to bow hunt til february 15th. It is good but it has its draw backs bc by opening on the 1st of october we had a week to hunt before the squirrel hunters started shootin up the da** woods. I have been baiting a spot really heavy that my dad harvested a doe last yr on, but he wont be able to hunt due to back surgery. My spot has been underwater for most of the summer so i hadn't did much w/ it. I harvested a 6 pt, a 240 lb boar hog, and i lost a doe in that spot last yr all w/ a bow. The deer are def. there. Seeing lots of signs but the hogs are eating up my feed as soon as i put it down. so i think i'm goin to go sit a few afternoons soon and try and get some fresh pork chops. I have my camera out right now and i will check either this afternoon or tomorrow and c what i have. I saw 2 monster bucks last yr b4 the season and no one has killed them. i stalked w/ in about 200 yds of the biggest one and it was right at dark and i could c his horns w/o any optics and they were still in velvet. YES HE'S HUGE!!! I'm going up to arkansas for a 4 day bow hunt on a farm that i have access to which the farmers have been spotting some really really good bucks. They are causing me to have sleepless nights. I'm in college so i scheduled all my classes in order to get out at lunch time so i can hunt every afternoon. I did that last yr and it paid of very well. Welll thats just a lil bit to give you guys an insight on my preseason so far. Let me know about the rest of yours.....We got this!!!!

Well i went out to the lease this afternoon for a couple hours to throw out some feed. Idk what is wrong w/ my dang camera, which is a stealth cam. i have signs all around it but no pics, but when i walk in front of it the darn thing snaps a shot. i'm giving one more week them i'm bringin it back. Didn't see any deer this afternoon but i just went for a lil while and i was on my 4 wheeler so i wasn't quiet. I did manage to shoot 2 big cottom mouths out of my hole(i say my hole b/c i killed 4 there a week ago...if i c as many deer as snakes this season we gonna blow this contest away.)
It is so dry its hard to c tracks right now but they are eating the feed. Only time will tell. i'm goin back next thursday to check the camera again. I also bought a new lock on stand this afternoon. i bought a gorilla king kong. it has a really large platform and a nice comfy seat. looking forward to spendin some hours in it. i'll keep ya'll up to date.....

Well, I got almost all of my plots in this weekend, and just in time for a good rain shower last night. I pulled all of my stands down and checked them all out. I only had to rebuild the wooden flooring on one ladder stand, but thats ok. I will be going to hang a few stands today, but I will probably wait til closer to season to hang the rest. Sign is just to hard to find in Oklahoma in the summer time.

I have been spotlighting frequently. It's illegal in Oklahoma, but I got a permit from our game warden. Anyways I have been seeing upwards 25+ deer a night just on 1/4 of our property. We havea lot more to look at, I am just to lazy . I have been seeing 5 bucks regularly. One super nice ten-I'm guessing 145+, 2 nice 8's-Probably 130-140, and the other two are both little basket racked 8's-two year olds. I have also seen plenty of fawns, and big does, oh, and a coule spiked bucks as well. Season looks like it could be fun, as long as I get them deers patterned soon.

I watched two small basket racked bucks sparring last night. As far as I can tell all the bucks have shed thier velvet now. Only 22 more days to opener. I put up a two man Buddy stand fro my son and I to hunt from. It will be his first hunt. He is only 4 years old. I hope he can sit still. LOL Should be fun.

Have we come up with a name yet ????

I personally like The Trail Blazing Pro Staff for a team name myself......but thats just me. I finished another food plot today and put some Clover Trio Buck mix in it. Season opens Oct 1 for me.

I suggest we use the "TEAM 14" thread as our talking main thread. That way we all see what everyone is saying. It's kinda hard to keep up with two threads if you know what I mean!
