Default Official Team 19 \"Silent But Deadly\" thread

Looks like most of us have checked in. I have PM'ed all members to send me a short bio to share with the rest of the members. SO far I have 3 of 10.

My season in IL starts Oct 1. I'll be out the 2nd and 3rd to take a doe and a buck if they come by.

Any team 19 hunters can join me in IL if they have their tags.

    Good luck guys!

Would the moderator please pin this thread?

    Thanks!

Well guys and gals! Do we have any gals on our team?

We are on the board! I shot a 3 pt'r opening morning here. Good size deer, not a big rack at all. Just have to figure out how to post the darn pictures now, i used to use hunt101.
    I seen 2 bucks, 9 doe
Now my next buck will have to have 4 or more pts on one side! I will have to do some traveling to find a good one to hunt. I will probably will not seeing anything big until Rut gets closer.

    All right!!! Good job Mike!

I went out Sat afternoon to my farm in Greene County IL. I planned to hunt a staging area between a bedding zone and a corn field. I planned to take a doe if available.

I got busted by a group of 6 bucks as I entered the woods at 4:30. Rather than walk in where I had wanted, I climbed a tree about 30 yards inside the trees and settled in.

At 5:30, 2 good bucks came through about 60 yards away. They were spooky and I let them go without a grunt. A coyote slipped behind me at 20 yards a few minutes later.

I got down early so I could look at an alfalfa field where I have been seeing the bucks. I got busted by two deer by my truck parked at the grain bins! There were 4 deer on the field. I saw 2 more deer on the ride home.

That made 14 deer within 150 yards of my parked truck. I plan on hunting the alfalfa tonight.

    Good luck all!

Sounds like your're off to a good start. Be careful not to "burn out" your best spots early in the season.

I passed on a 25-yd shot at a doe Friday at the NY Round Up. Standing, broadside, with the head down - but it just wasn't ethical. Too many branches in the way.

Looking forward to our Southern zone opener in two weeks.

Just an update. I shot a doe this morning, but i believe you can only enter 1 deer or animal.

Yes, i was shot in same stand. Seen 12 deer again, one was a little 4 pt'r.

    good hunting

It is my understanding that you can upgrade your score at any time.

A doe would put us on the board with 5 points.

    Good job!

Yes, a doe is 5 pts and a buck is 5 + the number of points on the rack (photo required).

Also, looks like Realtree corrected a problem with my account as I'm now able to post/reply again - thanks.

Well I went on an anterless hunt this past weekend and scored on an extremely small deer that turned out to be a button buck. I knew it was small when I shot it (I find it easier to cut up the small ones) but it was even smaller than I thought only dressing at 45 lbs. It should be some good eating though I did see something to get the blood pumping though. My brother videoed this good buck the day before I got my deer.
