Due to an illness in my family today was the first day I was able to hunt since the NY Smackdown in the 'dacks. Was too warm I think as the temps were about 60 degrees and seemed nothing was moving except for birds. Very windy today with the winds steady at about 15 with some gusts of 20mph+. That didn't help either. Sat from 3:00pm until 6:45pm and struck out... going again on Friday with Hillbilly.

Glad I ain't the only one not seeing deer. I got one opening day, and haven't seen hide nor hair since. Goo0d luck!

Its still too warm to get the deer moving yet. Hopefully we'll get some cooler temps soon!

Today is even warmer... high of 70! Man that sucks... I can't get out today anyway but we need a good hard frost to get these leaves off the trees and the deer moving! Tomorrow is supposed to be a high of 74 degrees!! I hate this weather.

Just heard the weather for tomorrow and it is supposed to be mid 70's. Am still going to hunt but man, that is way too warm.

No hunting for the last two days now... weather very warm, very windy.... time spent with family doin stuff around the house. When temps are good and season heats up, I'll have a little more time to spend in the woods.

Today, Sunday I am going out this afternoon. Weather is a bit cooler.. in the 60's here today and overcast. As much as I think the deer won't be moving in the warm weather, I'm not letting my season slip by because of warmer than avergae temps. The deer need to eat, I need to hunt.

Went out this afternoon and sat in Hillbillys father in-laws stand for 4 hours. No luck, just 1 red squirrel and a mouse. Windy and not very quiet. Going out again tomorrow AM and will be in the same stand. Temps supposed to drop into the 40's!

No luck this AM... nice cool morning but a little breezy... Think they passed by my stand before daylight as I could hear them but not see em'! Heading back out this afternoon!

Went back out last evening... beautiful evening to be sitting. A bit of a breeze, but other than that the cooler temps I thought were really gonna get the deer moving. No such luck. Passed a perfect 20 yard shot on 5 turkeys because I thought the deer were going to come down the trail as long as I stilled quiet and motionless... should have killed me a turkey I guess!! Oh well...thats hunting!

Today is Wednesday and the forecast for the next several days is rain ,rain, and more rain..... from that tropical depression I think. Today is a nice day with a high of 61. Little too warm yet but I think the deer might get moving with the rain coming. Hopefully anyways! I gonna try and knock one down tonight.

Went out last evening (Wed) and saw nothing but a weasel and a grouse. Used the new outhouse blind and even though it will be great for rainy day ml and rifle hunts... it is too small for archery. Not enough room to draw bow and not hit back wall with elbow and allow full extension of arm with limbs hitting front wall upon release. Lesson learned. ML Season starts on Sat. Back to the little 2 pound 3 legged stool. Outhouse blind on rainy days also.

Well, I've written off archery season for another year as ML opens tomorrow. Have to sight in tonight... ya I know, nothing like waiting til the last minute, but family obligations cause that to happen, plus not wanting to waste time at the range until I have a deer down with the bow. Hunting all day tomorrow on some pretty productive land. Hoping to have a deer down by Monday.

Went out this morning and very cool day. Spooked some deer on the way in but not too bad. Sat from 5:30am until almost 10am before getting up. Saw nothing but it did start to spit snow a bit!

This was my first day out since quite some time due to my daughters and fathers illnesses. I filled my antlerless tag tonight and will post a pic tomorrow.
