Volume is an important factor. You want to start out with your volume low. If a coyote is close you may scare the coyote off rather then call him in. Start out low volume for about 5 to 10 minutes. If a coyote doesn't come in with in 10 minutes, turn the volume up to about medium.

There is different ways of calling with an e-caller. You can play continuously or play for 2 to 5 minutes and stop for 5 or 10 minutes and start over. It's hard to say what the coyotes want to hear that day.
