    Default Coyote & coon

I just started trapping last week. I snared my first coon yesterday. He weighed 21 pounds. Anyone know what coons are bringing this year?

Sunday I called in 3 coyotes & ended up with one. His tail looked to have mange so I didn't have him skinned. I hated not to because he had a nice coat. Did I do the right thing?

Up here coons are bringing in the 20-25 doller range, Just rememebr to check with a buyer to see if they are slik in or out, up here all the buyers want it fur in and skin out,
For coyotes, I always skin them if the mange is just on the tail, I waear gloves and usually chop the tail off before skinning, I do not recommend it to others butmy buyer has been doing it for years and I ahve done prob 40 over the years with the bad tail, or else with a touch of mange on the belly, [get a redish underttone] I say you did the right thing but I will skin it out myself!!
