Today I was calling a huge pasture to the south of me and there was a stron wind from the north, there is a trail along the west side of the pasture were I parked below the hill I was setting the call on[used the electronic in the wind}I set the call on the hill about 100 yards above and east of the truck, i went about 200 yards south were I expected the yotes to come by and try to wind me so i could catch them before they caught me!After about 5 minutes nothing so I turne d around and in the crop to the east of the truck was a yote running full otu toward the truck! I had no chance seeing I was a good 300 yards from the truck and 200 from the call which was on a hill and the cotote would have to be a few yards away or no shot, so i chanced hustling through the crunchy snow to the call, I went down the vally and up the hill when I got there the yote was 30 yards east of the truck headed to the call,He headed strait norht and I barked and he stopped at 40 yards to eat a 50 gr Hp from the .223!I was shocked, i have had one last year between me and the truck but still 300 yards away or so, this guy had no interest in the truck seeing he was only a few yards away from it, it was actually a shock he came right in like that! I ended up with 3 in the truck, one more which I chest shot at dark and he ran into a slough and never came out and his front leg was broke up high,I am posative it took out one lung, I will find him tomorrw hopefully! Plus I missed a second one from my fourth stand that was about 250 angling away, I just led him a bit to much!Should of been a 5 dog day so times are looking up!
