we just throw em to the yotes....you should see the crop damage they did in this farmers sunflowers!!!! 75% of the heads are bare!!!! must be 400 crows in them!! Oh Ya...we are up to 60 birds now too![]()
They are rough on canteloupes and watermelons too. Come to think of it, what are they good for??![]()
i know some people that eat crows just like dove take the breast meat off and there you go
I can remember when there was no season on Crows. Over the years I've shot many of them, out of trees & on the ground, with my .222 Remington & .22 Hornet. I've only shot one with a shotgun.
I shot one out of the dining room window with a .22 Long at 60 yards open sights!!! He fell over dead and never even kicked!!!
Man that sounds like so much fun!!!
Awesome hunt! Congratulations. Those buggers are hard to kill!
i shoot crows here too, there a BIG pain in the butt, they get into all sorts of mischive, especially garbage. We have this Remington 700 Varmint 22-250, it has a 6-18x Redfield scope on it. Dad was out on the porch with this older man from New York, dad noticed a crow sitting at the top of a big pine tree. it was about 175 yards away. Dad went up and grabbed the 22-250, the guy from New York said.. you will NEVER hit that. Dad said "watch this". he loaded up the 52gr hollowpoint, set the gun on the roof of the car and fired, the bird fell from the tree and i ran and got it. Dad shot it right between the eyes LMAO. i showed the guy and he almost fell out of his chair lol.
In Indiana crow season opens on the 14 of Dec. Just bought a mojo crow to see if it will work. Nothing any funner than bustin a bunch of crows. Good luck with the rest of your crow hunting trips!![]()
