You Callin Him Ugly?

Well a post in the lounge sparked this thread.

Being waterfowlers I believe we have a closer connection to our dogs. They become our greatest hunting companion and for many of us, one of the biggest parts of our family.

A member of the forums had recently bought a new dog. A mix of Labradour Retriever and Standard Poodle. Labradoodle(i love that name )

Well some members hadn't heard of it and a picture was posted. Some members didn't like the way the dog looked.

NOW....if I just spent the money on a new puppy, and somebody called him ugly, I would be madder than mad. Puppy's first off are about the cutest thing going. Second, you've made the commitment to buy, train, and live with this dog for as long as you can.

I am not calling deer hunters insensitive, but I don't believe they fully understand the connection between a waterfowler and their bird dog. During that short season we spend every hour we can with them, in the marsh or field.

To deer hunter that read this, please don't call our dogs ugly, or things will get ugly.

I am a duck hunter, i have a black lab, and i commented on the appearance of the labradoodle. I didn't say his dog was ugly, i haven't seen it. I said i think the breed in funny lookin. I also said what matters is what he thinks of it. I really don't think there is a problem saying a breed in general is ugly if that is how you feel. Personally if someone looked at my dog and said it was ugly i would care, but if they said "I think black labs are a funny looking or ugly breed" who cares, that is their opinion.

For Further Justifiacation search for Labradoodle in the PIcture Post, and you'll see what a truely beautiful dog she really is. If you still say shes ugly after that, I'll value your opinion, but still think your wrong

Cute puppy, but i just think when the hair gets longer and fluffier they look funny. BUt like i said what counts is you think they look good, and also from what i read they do make a great hunting dog. I am sure you will enjoy many great days afield with her.

I am a deer hunter, I am a duck hunter, I am a rabbit hunter, all using the same dog. I still think labrabdoodles are ugly. Sorry if I offended anybody, but thats what I believe.

uhmm the head looks like a lad but i bet he has a poodle body. i hate poodles. i can'r stand the way they look or anything. i would like to see a picture of the whole dog to see what it really looks like now and when it gets older.

I have a friend in Fl who has a labradoodle. He has had a black lab that was unreal at retrieving ducks, and the labradoodle makes the lab look lazy. But I would never call anybodys dog ugly. THAT IS JUST WRONG!!!!!!!!!! I am single and my lab is my best friend. She rides in the front seat with me everywhere. I love that dog more than anything, and if someone called her ugly, then thos would be fighting words. That dog's sole aim in life is to please me, and she thrives off of my praise. All I have to do is look at her wrong, and she knows that she is in trouble. I have never had to use anything more than a newspaper when she was young. Labs and all retrievers somehow manage to form a bond with most waterfowlers that is second to none, and they hold a special place in our hearts. If you are a duck hunter and you dont beleive this, then you must not spend much time with your dog. My pup is only 9 months old, but she retrieves like a champ b/c she wants to please me, and I WOULD NEVER LET ANYONE CALL MY DOG UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So wichever jerk called the labradoodle ugly, you need learn some manners punk!!!!!!!!!!!

i hunt for ducks and deer so im not calling any dogs ugly.

and we havent gnao duck hunting for so long because my dog is 13 and he is deaf now

I learned from coon hunting you can talk about a
guys wife or mom but dont talk bad about his dog.
