i'd just tell her, she has to get up early, she has to be quiet and she'll have to pee in a bag.....if she can handle that then i'd proceed, lol.......all i can say is "dont force to go or to do anything she doesnt want too......dont take risky shots, let her see how much we really do care about a quick ,clean kill...God forbid she would have to see a wounded critter her time out.....make it as positive as you can... most of all, dont throw a fit when she out hunts you

If you want her to actually hunt, as opposed to just sitting and watching you, then I would suggest you take her out shooting now so that she is able to make a good shot.

Does she like being in the woods? Is it comfortable and relaxing for her? Take her out on slow and easy "nature walks", you get to do some scouting and she gets to know how relaxing and revitalizing it is to just be in the woods. That will go a long way to make it more enjoyable when you are sitting in a tree stand! Even if hunting doesn't turn out to be her thing, she can still enjoy sitting with you while you hunt.

If she likes all of this and is agreeable to going out with you, make it a short trip. If she isn't a morning person maybe you could have her meet you at the hunting spot later in the day? Or you could pick her up if you break for lunch.

You need to find out what is stopping her from wanting to go and address those issues. Good luck! I hope she quickly finds out how great it is!

If anything just ask her if she would like to sit with you a couple of times to see if she is interested. Watching hunting videos and reading hunting magazines also gets me pumped up for a hunt. If she likes the outdoors I am sure she will love to go with you. Sometimes it is just being with a good hunting partner that makes or breaks the hunt for you.

Does she like to eat game meat ? That might make a lot of difference if she does I can't get my wife to hunt anything, she doesn't mind dropping me off ( mainly to get rid of me ) LOL. She also enjoys venision alot and makes it very well. She gets excited when I get a deer, so that is good !! Best of luck that you have a new hunting buddy

From someone in the same boat: I am going to take my gf out this fall on a nice afternoon and sit in some hay bails on a food plot that isnt shot that often. That way we should see some deer and it avoids the cold and bad weather...hope all turns out well for you Wheat!
