Default How many of you ladies...

Wear camo clothing that is men's or women's? I think all of my camo gear is in men's sizes but it is nice to see a few places like Cabela's have women's clothing also. Is there any major differences between camo made for men/women?

I am making the switch this year from mens' to womens'. I guess if you are slim through the hips, there wouldn't be a big difference in the fit, but I am not slim through there! LOL That means I have to buy men's pants in a waist size two inches bigger than my waist so it fits through the hips. I have had good luck buying boys medium shirts, it's cheaper than adult sizes and fits just as well.

Unfortunately I have to buy youth x-large because men's smalls are too big and the ladies clothes.....well let's just say, there isn't much to choose from unless you get it out of a catalog.
I want one of those Silent Hide suits for this winter. Hopefully Bass Pro will have one that won't swallow me whole.

I've always wore mens camo... although I'm seriously thinking about buying all new camo in womens sizes this year. I don't mind the camo in mens sizes except for the fact that certain areas are way too baggy on me - which I think is the reason why I tend to get cold on chilly days.

I DEFINATELY need to buy new boots this year though - in womens size. Suggestions? My feet FREEZE every year because of my sock/boot selection. One of these years I'll smarten up. lol.

    Alisha,
Try something that I have been doing for years and has helped alot. Before you put your socks on, use some anti-persperant on your feet. I use the stick and then rub it in with my hands and that stops my feet and hands from swaeting.
Cabela's also have some of the best socks for cold weather. I need to pick up a few more par, seems some of mine are showing up in Mommys dresser???

Alisha, Look into Orvis's boots....and don't buy women's boots, no matter what brand, they don't make them as warm as mens for some reason....

I got a pair of Orvis's from ebay and have never had a problem with cold feet since. If you are sitting for a long time I have heard some good things about these things that look like camo booties that slip over your boots. I haven't tried them personally, but I think some guys have posted about them in the hunting equipment section....

    Thanks 7th and Linda!

7th - if I happen to see you up at Cabelas, please point me in the direction of these socks! I definately need some!

Linda - I'll have to look into those boots you suggested.... as well as the booties. I've seen them before but never tried them. ANYTHING to keep my feet warm.

Try buying your boots about a half size bigger than normal......worked for me....

A tight fitting boot will compress the insulation, and sock......never a good thing.

Unfortunately, women don't get adequate representation in this industry, especially in regards to apparel. A friend of mine pursued this very issue with some of the biggest clothing names several years ago at the 2003 SHOT show.

You can read up on her findings here. I found it quite informative.

Orvis is based out of Vermont, not 30 minutes from me. They are a bit pricey but they are awesome.

Alisha, I got a pair of these black Lacrosse winter boots last year and they worked at keeping my feet warm while hunting which was a first. They have a thick felt-like removable lining and a waterproff nylon upper. You may want to look for boots similar to that, or at least look for boots designated for winter with thick linings.

I don't have any "ladies camo".Everything I wear is boys or mens.My latest find has been some fleece, jacket and pants, that fit very well and was fairly cheap at wal-marts.The camo pattern, which is realtrees hardwood green is excellent. Its really, really warm and great for layering.I lucked up and got a pair of youth size camo lacrosse boots at the co-op for $27.My feet sweat with all types of socks in them and I've never had any that made my feet that warm.I would never pay more for a label that said ladies when I can get better cheaper.I ain't looking to look good in camo, don't need no fancy stuff.
