Default Question for my huntin\' girlfriends

Just wanted to know if any of you have the same problem I do during hunting season. Does your housework get neglected until the season is over???
It's not something I am proud of but I find it almost impossible to keep my house clean when hunting season is here. I get up, go to work, rush home, bathe, slap on my camo, sit in a stand til dark, come home, fix dinner, help with homework, throw some clothes in the wash and go to bed. Sound familiar to anyone? Just wondering if I was the only one who was this obsessed.

Sounds all to familiar to me! The way I figure it is hunting season only lasts for a little while, but the mess will ALWAYS be there! LOL It has gotten so bad sometimes that I have been known to pick up a couple extra packages of socks for the family so I can go a little longer without doing laundry. I have to get a sign a friend of mine has in her house. It says "If you have come to visit me, sit down and relax. If you have come to visit my house, make an appointment!"

That's funny. Sometimes I feel like I am surrounded by slobs. I have a husband and 2 boys. No one helps out. (Of course, I can make the kids do some things.) By the end of hunting season I am ready to go on strike. Why can't Mom have some fun like the rest of them? Last time I went on strike it got so bad it was almost a health hazard. They'll just have to get over it. I'm not one to stay in the house cooking and cleaning all day. Can you tell I'm needing to vent? I love 'em to death but I gotta figure out something fast.

That is too familiar here too and I don't even have kids so I can't imagine how it will be with little ones running around too! We do end up eating out a lot cause I don't have time to go to the store.

Oh you poor thing! I can totally feel your pain! LOL I too have two boys (9 and 11) and a fiance that is just like having another boy. I can't remember the last time I sat on a dry toilet seat. The only thing that has worked for me was to get rid of all the extra junk that was laying around and then keeping everything else very organized. It helps to slow down on the messing. If I tried the strike thing the only thing anyone would miss is dinner and clean clothes (and I don't think the boys care much if their clothes are clean....lol) They don't seem to even notice the mess surrounding them....wonder if that is a male thing?????

I truly believe it IS a male thing. And I know what you mean about a wet toilet seat. My boys are 8 and 12. And you are right, they don't notice when I go on strike. I think I will try to get rid of the extra junk too. Everyone will have just 2 pairs of pants, 2 prs. of socks, 3 or 4 shirts, and we'll start eating off paper plates!! THAT'S IT!!!! And I'll take off the toilet seat and hide it so I willl know where it is when I want to use it! Wanna hear somethin' funny? When we first got married I got tired of my husband leaving his dirty clothes everywhere. So, I started picking them up and putting in garbage bags. Eventually he ran out of clothes. One day he asked where all his clothes were and I just pointed to the bags. He got the hint.

Umm...well my mom does alot of the housework but my sister and I do chores. I have to do either the kitchen or barn chores each month so if it is hunting season, well the family has to pitch in,lol. Everyone basically shares responsiblity except for sharing my homework responsiblity
