Steve Beilgard

Born in 1947, Steve Beilgard can boast of 45 years guiding experience in both Alaska and Wyoming. A long time Wyoming outfitter and guide, Steve retired in 2002 to spend more time with his family and spend more time with his duties as a Team Realtree pro staff member. In all Steve's years of guiding, he proudly boasts an all time 100% success rate on antelope and 6 x 6 bull elk in Wyoming, an 85% kill rate on mule deer, and guiding fishermen in Alaska to huge halibut and trophy salmon.

Steve now spends his time promoting Realtree, it's patterns, and teaching others how to hunt the west. You cannot hear a seminar from Steve without hearing him say "where would I be now if I were wearing a 1/2 inch thick fur jacket". referring, of course, to have a hunter think like the animal they are hunting. The key to successful western hunting is knowing where the game will be in a certain weather condition, temperature, and wind, and where he's likely to be at a certain time of day. Steve will also teach how to use optics, complete with where and why to use good optics. Knowing where to look for game, how to look for game, and where the game is likely to be is the key to successful hunting in the west. Steve also teaches a full litany of what not to do when hunting out west.

You're also quite likely to hear Steve boast about his best friend of over 40 years, his wife Rilda, who passed away August 2011. and of their two children and his 6 grandchildren. God, family, and friends is what we are all about.
