DU Plans Social Media Push to Support the Farm Bill
The Farm Bill is one of the most important pieces of legislation in modern times for waterfowl habitat conservation. Upon expiration last year, the Bill was never called to a vote and now, with a new session of Congress beginning in January, the unfinished bill must begin from scratch. Ducks Unlimited is taking big strides to support the bill and get the word out to waterfowlers across the continent on just how important their support is as well.
Without question, one of the strongest ways to deliver a message in today’s world is through social media. The DU Facebook page carries more than 570,000 “likes," and the Realtree page has more than 1 million. By utilizing this audience, DU plans on hosting a 2013 Farm Bill Social Media Day this Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013. Facebook users are encouraged to go to the Ducks Unlimited Facebook Page and like and share their 2013 Farm Bill update. DU also urges Twitter users to use #2013FarmBill in as many Tweets as possible that day.
Few steps have more significance right now for waterfowl habitat conservation than the programs included in the Farm Bill. We encourage your support.
