Did your son get his first squirrel last fall? Your daughter bag her first gobbler this spring? Or did you just have a memorable day in the woods with your kids? Regardless of whether the trip was a success, we want to see your kids' hunting photos and share the stories behind them with Realtree.com readers. Email your best photos and some info about the image to rteditorial [at] gmail [dot] com by June 22. We’ll select some of our favorites to post on Realtree’s Facebook page. After Realtree Facebook fans vote on their favorites, we will post the top pics on Realtree.com for all to see.
If you’ve read some of my previous blogs, you know the time I’ve spent hunting with my children has been limited due to my work schedul
e and busy home life. But, I did get to take my children turkey hunting this past spring. Here are a couple of my favorite shots featuring my boys Ethan, 8, and Ransom, 4. They were both so enthusiastic about their turkey hunt, but I have to admit, they weren't exactly cooperative on the day of the hunt. In fact, they were loud, hyper and impatient – typical behavior for little boys, but not a good recipe for success. The picture on the left captures Ransom pouting after I had to get on to him for being too noisy. The top picture shows them all decked out in camo sitting quietly against a tree, which lasted all of maybe five minutes. Although we experienced no success, we had a good time and made some great memories. I am so glad I have these photos to share and to remind me of their first hunt and our chaotic, but fun time.
I cherish my children's hunting photos, and I bet you have some that you cherish as well. Send in your pics so we can ooh and aah over your cute kids together.
