OK boys and girls, I need your help with something. I want to know who you think is the greatest archer of all time. That's right, who gets the hardware for being able to fling an arrow the best. Let's keep it narrowed to just the hunters for kicks. And I definitely am not taking anything away from those archers who don't wear camo, but there is a reason for this question.
This is a preview to a story that will be appearing on Realtree.com soon, so stay tuned for that.
We'll be back with more serious bow talk after these messages...
Keep 'em steady,

I woul have to give this award to Fred Bear. Gettin it done with a recurve time after time, that is something special.
No doubt, Fred Bear.
No doubt, Fred Bear.

I would have to say when it comes to straight up puttin animals in the dirt would have to be Michael Waddell or dan Kisky. There is a differance in a great shooter and a great killer. a friend of mine out shoots me every time at 3d shoots but misses deer all the time. I know people are going to say im crazy, and there were a lot of good hunters back in the day but, if my life depended on someone hitting the woods and bringing back a dead deer. I think I would be handing the bow to Waddell.
Michael Waddell
just kidin, Scott Withers
Trav,
I give my vote to a proffesional competition archer who is also a heck of a hunter, Jeff Hopkins.
I hear your a pretty good shot yourself there T-bone. But all time I would have to say Fred Bear. Although I do agree with Scott's entry on Waddell just being able to lay the smack down on some bucks.
Thanks, Travis
Michael Waddell
fred bear and michiel waddell no doubt
Being a PA boy myself, I'm gonna have to go with Fred Bear. What, you all didn't know that Fred Bear was from PA? These mountains and ridges don't produce JUST road-hunters.
Oh, and a close second is a good friend who I grew up with. He was 3 time National and World champion Junior Archer, Jason Harris (who by the way shot a 174 inch hog with his bow last October right here in good ol' PA). This is the kicker though... this dude shrugged off a shoot in his 1st year of college to go turkey hunting with his dad. Priorities out of line, I think not! Cause we gotta put the meat on the table, not a piece of foam!
Michael Waddell and Fred Bear

I've seen monster bucks XV. So I'll say T-BONE.
I'm torn between Papa Bear and Mr. SuperSlam Chuck Adams! How'bout past and present?
Chuck Adams or Stan Potts. It's too close to call.
Howard Hill is a legend
yesterday's best Fred Bear or Howard Hill
Todays best t-bone or Michael Waddell
and i am like someone on here said what matters is the meat on the table not in foam.
Nick Summerfield
I would have to say, Stephen Price....without a doubt.

Adams, Potts, and Waddell are all great choices but Mr. Fred Bear is the pioneer and will always be the best. His bow was his life and passion. He also built his bows.
Fred Bear is the best bowhunter of the past. Two modern hunters who are up there with him would be Chuck Adams and Michael Waddell.
Bryan
Fred Bear without a doubt. No one else mentioned comes close. No offense, maybe I'll include Wadell if he keeps it up for a lifetime. Time will tell!
I'd have to say Fred Bear and Chuck Adams. Michael Waddell is awesome but not quite to their status.
Chris
Travis,
My vote goes to Chuck Adams and Michael Waddell. They are both impressive archers!
Tom--PA
chuck adams or t-bone
Fred Bear and Chuck Adams without question are the best archers and bowhunters of all time. I don't think anyone else comes close to comparison due to the fact that Fred Bear made his own bows and then hunted for world record animals with those very bows...and Chuck Adams has more world class animals than anyone can shake a stick at.
Chuck adams and tom miranda
I would have to say Dan Fitzgerald. He shoots instinctive on account of being blind in his right eye and he doesn't use guides for every hunt or spend thousands of dollars for the already scouted herd of deer with the big buck already pointed out and almost measured. He also shoots recurve and longbow just as accurately. He kills many does on video and has a strong Christian faith as well as teaching on every hunt he does. I think he teaches the best morals for young and new hunters in everything he does.
