A lot of you know what close friends Realtree is with Rascal Flatts, especially the lead singer Gary LeVox (you've probably seen him on the Monster Bucks DVD or "Realtre Outdoors"). Well, when they were in Atlanta in October, I was able to go see Gary and the boys perform and hang out with them. I also got to chat with Gary about bowhunting and the hunting season so far. I can tell you from our chats over the years this boy can shoot, and he loves him some hunting. A lot of folks don’t know this, but he is incredibly funny. I swear he would fit right in on the cast of Saturday Night Live.
Kelly Pickler opened for them, which not only can she sing but she is easy on the eyes, too. The guys put on a great show and they were really on that night. The last song they played was "Life is a Highway" from the Cars movie, and Gary had gotten us great seats right up against the stage. Towards the end of the song, Gary walks over towards me and hands me the microphone. Me not being bashful, I gave it all I had. T-Bone singing to 20,000 folks in Phillips arena, was crazy! I’m not quitting my job, but hey, I did not hear any BOOOOOS either. That was cool of Gary to do that.
So, to wrap things up, I guess this redneck can check (sung in front of a packed arena) off the To-Do list. It’s been a great year. If they ever have an over 30 and over 300-pound American Idol, I really think I got a shot. What do ya’ll think???
