A Moose?

Below is a copy of an email I got a few days ago. This thing has to be kin to a moose. Don't you think?

Email read:
An Alberta, Canada native just knocked down a monster whitetail deer about two weeks ago. From what I have been been told this deer is indescribable and kind of resembles the Hole In The Horn buck. It has been green scored at 287 gross and 280 net non-typical B&C.

From what I understand, the kid missed it last year, which they figured the buck was even bigger - pushing the 300-inch mark. Right now that green score puts it as the pending #1 in Alberta and #8 in the world.

What do you think?

    Hey T-Bone,
I hope for everyones sake that this is a real picture but i really have my doubts. I dont know what people get from photo shopping pictures and then tellin you how big of a deer they have shot. The picture just doesnt look right to me but who knows. i would rather here a good story of a 120-130 buck that someone did their homework and see a real picture. O well.

    HEY TBONE-

I AGREE WITH TODD, THE PIC LOOKS A LITTLE SUSPICIOUS TO ME AS WELL. BUT THEN AGAIN, YA NEVER KNOW!! IF IT IS A TRUE PICTURE, THEN GOOD FOR THAT KID... THAT SAID, IF IT IS AN ALTERED PIC, IT IS STILL ONE HECK OF A DEER.

I think the taxidermsist is going to need lag bolts to anchor down that skull cap to the form! If that is real, it is one heck of a buck. I bet that was one long year after he missed last years shot.
If it was me and I had missed the previous year, I would have practiced my shot so much that I probably would have been able to qualify for sniper school!
With all of this photo shop stuff, its sad that if someone truly gets a record setting animal, that it immediately has controversy overshadowing the credibility of the event. How would someone authenticate and actual record book animal? With photo shop and some shed racks or road kill bucks, anything could be possible. Maybe that would be a good Blog topic. "How to authenticate your record book buck". Not everyone is going to have their hunt on video tape. So is there some sure fire ways to gaurd yourself against the critics?

Have fun at the shot show!

Looks like the real deal to me. Hopefully it is anyway because it's an awsome looking buck. I personally have hunted in Alberta, Calling Lake to be exact and i've seen first hand some of the freeks that rome the bush up there.

I dont know if its real or not but at the bow shop I go to they have a buck mount that looks crazy. like a moose the main beams are palmated and I belive they were about 12 inches in circumfrance but they arent thick just flat and tall.
