Fish Kills Deer

Hey folks , I believe this is the first recorded case where a Catfish kills a Pope & Young buck.

Below is a guy you all may recognize as "Channel Cat" from the Monster Bucks DVDs. Well, in real life he is Michael Pitts, one of my good buddies. He was fortunate to arrow this buck on Oct. 5 in Georgia. He is an 11-pointer that will gross about 131, an old mature deer that weighed 254 on the hoof.

Way to go Channel Cat,

Wow. Awesome job! Is that a buck he was watching for a while or was he a total surprise? Either way it is an awesome buck. Someday I will get a Pope and Young. I have come close. My problem is that I think with my stomach rather than my head. Sure I love to see those big bucks on TV. But when it comes to me in a tree stand with my itchy trigger finger and an empty stomach, my definition of trophy changes. I start thinking trophy cuts of backstraps, mountains of jerky, a crock pot of sloppy doe, pulled venison BBQ, and deer chili. That is just to name a few. Man sounds like I need to go out to the woods this morning! I am getting hungry.
Lets get back on track here. That is an incredible buck there Channel Cat! Congrates on a job well done. At 264 lb I bet that will put a dent in the freezer. Happy butchering!
