Kinetic Energy

I would love to see bows post KE results as much as they do on IBO ratings. So many people get caught up in the IBO rating and do not even consider their KE or Momentum. Especially for they people who think there bow is going to shoot the IBO speed with there hunting set up. Man do they get dissapointed when you explain the IBO rating and how that is achieved. If we all related more to Kinetic energy I think we would be more satisfied with real world results. Good Blog Bone!

Heya T-bone! I love watching your videos. However, I have to correct you a little on this one. You can't compare a bow's poundage to the kinetic energy and say a that the bow is more than 100% efficient (it's not possible to be over 100% efficient, if you could figure out how do that, you'd be a very, very rich man!). You have to compare the total potential energy (energy stored in the bow at full draw, or the area under the draw force curve) to the kinetic energy of the arrow. Today's best bows can reach just over 90% efficiency.

    Keep up the good work!

T-Bone, thanks for taking your time with the blog. Really nice. Founded today.

That number is for unit conversion. You have to work with the International System of Units to make operations.

    Keep them coming.
