3 | First Whitetail and First Bowkill

Photographer: Kaitlyn Wiens, Montana

“Starting September 4th, opening day of bow season, I was in my stand every evening that I didn’t have classes or homework. However, college wasn’t really the first thing on my mind. It would only take six nights in the stand before I would drop my first whitetail. The buck had a gross score of 149.5 inches and walked 15 yards from my stand. I shot him right through the lungs and he dropped 80 yards from where I shot him. It will be a hunt I will never forget.”

4 | Austin's First Glassing Trip

Photographer: Bill Wiseman, Michigan

“This is a picture of my son Austin on his first trip with dad to look for deer! I grew up doing this with my dad and they are some of my favorite memories. I am so fortunate to be able to pass down this wonderful tradition to my sons. I am so looking forward to the years to come!!! This beats any picture of any deer I have in all my hunting albums!”

6 | View from the Blind

Photographer: Steve Kane, British Columbia

"This is just one of many photos taken from the cover of my hand-made Realtree camo blind. A little light fog crossing the field always makes hunting more interesting for me.”

8 | Recoil!

Photographer: Paul Martin, West Virginia

“I was fortunate to take this doe on Saturday, September 25th. This was the last day of West Virginia’s Early Antlerless Muzzleloader season. My wife, Andrea, joined me for the first time on any hunt and together we had a great and memorable time. I took this doe shortly after daylight. After I squeezed the trigger on my muzzleloader, I was trying to see through the thick white smoke when I realized I had blood dripping off my nose. I enjoyed a cookout and horseshoe throwing tournament later that day with my family, and you can imagine the ribbing and joking that I was subjected to!”
