Realtree Camo Guide
Bear Archery is an icon in the bowhunting world. The legend of Fred Bear and the company he founded is alive and well, and that’s apparent in the new bows they have for 2019. Check out the Perception, Kuma (Kuma, Kuma LD and Kuma 30) and Divergent. All great bows. One of them is right for you. Get the low-down on the new lineup below.
Bear Perception (Tyler Ridenour photo)
The new Perception is the flagship bow in the 2019 Bear lineup. It’s a burner, too, coming in at 350 fps. That’s lighting it up. It has a little different look due to the shoot-through riser. It is a little heavier than some bows on the market (4.3 pounds), but some archers prefer heavier bows. This model also stays middle-of-the-road with its 6-inch brace height, but it does go a little longer than average with its 33-inch axle-to-axle length.
Speed: 350 fps
Bow Weight: 4.3 pounds
Brace Height: 6 inches
Axle-to-Axle: 33 inches
Draw Weight: 45-60 and 55-70 pounds
Draw Length: 25.5-30 inches
Let-Off: 75 percent
MSRP: $1,499.99
Bear Kuma

The Kuma is another awesome offering by Bear this year. Like the Hoyt RX-3, it comes in three different variations: Kuma, Kuma LD and Kuma 30. Each of them offer slightly different specs for different shooters and preferences. Altogether, the Kuma is a fast bow, ranging from 330 to 345 fps. But the true spectacle is the price tag. The MSRP is a surprising (in a good way) $899. It’s basically a flagship-status bow for under $900.
Speed: 330 (Kuma LD) / 345 (Kuma and Kuma 30)
Bow Weight: 4.1 pounds (Kuma 30) / 4.3 pounds (Kuma and Kuma LD)
Brace Height: 6 inches (Kuma and Kuma 30) / 6 ½ inches (Kuma LD)
Axle-to-Axle: 33 inches (Kuma) / 33 ¼ inches (Kuma LD) / 30 inches (Kuma 30)
Draw Weight: 45-60 and 55-70 pounds
Draw Length: 27-32 inches (Kuma LD) / 25.5-30 inches (Kuma and Kuma 30)
Let-Off: 75 percent (Kuma and Kuma 30) / 80 percent (Kuma LD)
MSRP: $899.99
Bear Divergent
Bear Divergent (Tyler Ridenour photo)
The new Divergent from Bear is a solid bow. And to be honest, it’s one of the best budget bows available for 2019. It shoots and feels great and is a pretty fast (and quiet) bow for the money. The Divergent design helps eliminate riser flex and reduces weight while maintaining structural integrity. It’s also very light at 3.9 pounds and 28 inches axle-to-axle. If you’re looking for a bow under $700, this is a great way to go in 2019. Give the Divergent a try.
Speed: 338 fps
Bow Weight: 3.9 pounds
Brace Height: 6.5 inches
Axle-to-Axle: 28 inches
Draw Weight: 45-60 and 55-70 pounds

Let-Off: 75 percent
MSRP: $699.99
