Realtree Camo Guide
There are a lot of great new bows on the market today. Problem is, most of them that offer flagship-level performance will also pillage your pocketbook. That makes the new Elite Valor worth a serious look.
“We heard dealers and bowhunters around the country asking for an affordable bow that performed like an Elite,” said Josh Sidebottom, COO of The Outdoor Group and Elite Archery. “The message was clear: There was a big demand for a bow that has Elite shoot-ability for under $1,000. The team was challenged by this and worked hard to create a bow that included all of the hallmarks that Elite is known for.”
Accomplish it they did. The bow performs like a flagship bow but wears the price tag of a high-end budget bow. Here are the things you need to know about this new offering.
1. Performance

This is a high-quality bow with a great draw cycle that's smooth, with a deep valley most shooters will love. It’s one of the quieter bows on the market, too, especially compared to those in its class. It has a forgiving, 6.813-inch brace height.
“The bowhunter who is looking for a high-quality and affordable bow,” Elite said. “The hunter who recognizes the value in high-end machined components and appreciates that we don't cut corners. This bow is for them.”
2. Ruggedness

The Valor is built to take the challenges it meets in the field. We’d advise against driving over it with your truck, hitting it with the lawn mower or sending it through the wood chipper. But rest assured this thing will handle the general wear, tear and abuse subjected to a hunting bow. It was designed to be rugged, built with machined components.
“In the ground blind, running and gunning, or up in a tree, this bow will go with you to overcome whatever challenge awaits you in the field,” Elite said. “Conquer all adversity.”
3. Adjustability

The Valor is highly adjustable. Draw length ranges from 25 to 29.5 inches. Peak draw weight ranges vary from 50 to 70 pounds. Even the let-off is adjustable from 75 to 90 percent. This makes it a great bow option for most men and women, and a setup you can adjust to fit you as needs and seasons change.
It’s also easy to add and/or swap out bow accessories on this model. Mounting or changing sights, rests, stabilizers, quivers and other on-bow accessories is fairly simple with the Valor. It’s much faster to do that on this bow than with other options currently on the market.
4. Versatility

At 28.75 inches, this is a relatively short axle-to-axle bow, but not too short. That alone makes it a versatile hunting bow. It’ll work in treestands, ground blinds or while sitting on the ground.
Ultimately, this bow stays "middle of the road" and satisfies most of the preferences of both long- and short-bow advocates. It's hard to satisfy everyone. But the Valor does a great job of trying.
Finally, if we're being honest, it’s not uncommon to see bow companies get away from their base, or their core, when they make a bow that’s more versatile--or more affordable. Elite didn’t do that with this bow. They tried something different. They achieved something great. But with the Valor, they did it in a way that stayed true to the brand, yet still ventured into new territory.
5. Affordability

The new Valor is its own bow. But it includes many good attributes found within their flagship Ritual platformn. That’s impressive, given the price difference between the two models. The Valor has an MSRP of $749, which puts it into an entirely new price-point territory for Elite.
They even offer affordable financing. Elite states that customers can “enjoy the flexibility to pay over time” with monthly payments of $67 for 12 months with 9.99 percent APR. Their estimated total of payments is listed at $804, if financed.
Specs at a Glance

We’re all about numbers. We know you probably are, too. Gear junkies tend to geek out over the details. We come by it honest, though. Here are the specs at a glance, from speed to let-off:
Speed: 329 fps
Brace Height: 6.813 inches
Draw Length: 25-29.5 inches
Draw Weight: 50, 60 or 70 pounds
Bow Weight: 4.1 pounds
Axle-to-Axle: 28.75 inches
Let-Off: 75-90 percent
MSRP: $749
Overall, this bow is solid. It satisfies all of the five points above and then some. The Elite Valor is fast, quiet, smooth and tough. And, as mentioned, it also exhibits the adjustability and versatility you look for in a good bow. Summarized, it’s a workhorse that will live up to your standards.
