Helping Keep You Updated on What's Happening with the Rut
The rut is a magical time of the year. It’s when mature bucks are at their most vulnerable time. And as hunters, it’s generally our favorite time of year to sit high in a tree.
But the rut is a mystery. There are so many variables. And it’s hard to stay up to date on what’s happening with the rut, especially for working men and women who don’t have the spare time to spend every day in the deer woods.
As you click through the interactive map, you’ll find the country will be separated into five different regions: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Northwest and Southwest. And within each region, you’ll be greeted by a hard-core deer hunter just like you as they bring bi-weekly reports on what’s happening with the rut near you. We’ll be hearing from expert sources — pro staffers, outfitters, guides, biologists, and more — throughout the country, too.
So stay tuned, we’ll soon be taking the Realtree.com Rut Report page live for you to enjoy and benefit from.
The big show is what we live for as deer hunters. And we’re counting down the days until its arrival.
Whitetails make the hunting world go round. Josh Honeycutt, deer hunting editor and "Brow Tines and Backstrap" blogger, knows a fair bit about killing mature deer. He was raised up hunting the river bottoms of Kentucky. And he still hunts there—among other places—to this day.
Follow along as he shares his adventures, experiences and knowledge of the white-tailed deer.
