Most hunters don’t live in places where they can see both whitetails and mule deer run in the same circles. But those that do often find themselves witnessing sights like this one. While it isn’t really common, it isn’t unheard of for a whitetail and mule deer to go head-to-head.
Mule deer outweigh whitetails by quite a bit. But whitetails win the majority of the fights between the two rivals. Why? Attitude. Whitetails are much more aggressive than mule deer, which leads to more whitetail victories. That’s also why many whitetail-muley hybrids are sired by white-tailed bucks instead of mule deer bucks.
In this video, these aren’t big deer by any means. But that didn’t stop these two yearlings from going at it. And as one might expect, the whitetail came out on top.
