The Grade: A

Indiana opened a few eyes with its "A" grade a couple years back. Well, those eyes should remain wide open because the Hoosier State has earned it again. Indiana has a quality mix. Lots of deer. Plenty of Booners entered. Good chunks of public land. And let's not forget nonresident licenses that are available over-the-counter at bargain rates.

The state's one-buck rule seems to be paying off as more than a dozen bucks in both the typical and non-typical categories have been entered into the Boone & Crockett records from Indiana over the past two seasons. This state is trending upward in the record books. A lot of big deer are coming out of the state.

Antler Nation Knowledge:

Most of the best deer hunting is along the Ohio River. The southern and eastern part of the state has a lot of great habitat for deer. That's where a lot of the big boys are coming from. Scout public land in those areas for the best results.
