General Information

I have seen a lot of daytime (mid-late afternoon) activity in & around green fields with adjacent heavy cover, which seems to be the usual this year with very little to no fruit & nut crops in my area. I too, have witnessed larger than normal yearling groups & less than usual mature does. I also have seen a concerning low number of young bucks this year, & most of the 2-3 ½ year old bucks sighted during bow season harvested or wounded during the 1st week of firearms season. However, I did witness a small spike breeding a doe yesterday afternoon (11/29). So with trail cam photos still coming in of multiple shooters in another area I hunt, I am optimistically hopeful of more rutting activity & catching up to one with firearm in hand.
