Major League Fishing Pro Jacob Wheeler Dominates Lake Eufaula Event

Off to a dominating 2020 start, Major League Fishing (MLF) pro Jacob Wheeler led all anglers with a Period 3 win in the recent B&W Trailer Hitches Stage One Championship Round.

Wheeler, whose sponsors include Academy Sports + Outdoors and Realtree Fishing, caught 24 hard-earned fish. The 68-pound total distanced his tally by over 20 pounds from the second-place entry.

During the Feb. 7-12 Championship Round, Wheeler faced a range of challenging conditions top tourney anglers navigate each season. With so many variables playing into the tournament, he said, To have it all come together with that many things happening feels pretty dang awesome."

Awesome indeed.

As the enthusiastic Wheeler said after the event: I feel phenomenal. It's been an unbelievable week here on Lake Eufaula, Alabama. We had rain, we had wind, we had cold weather, we had warm weather, we had it all….

In 2019, Wheeler - currently a Tennessee resident - won Stage Seven on Table Rock Lake. With eight major career wins (four MLFs), his current career winnings total $1,899,753.
