A new original digital series titled Pay Dirt is available on the Realtree 365 app. Hosted by Midwest Whitetail’s Bill Winke, along with Realtree United Country Land Pros, Pay Dirt is a land management show featuring tips on how to buy, sell and maintain land for hunting and recreation. New Realtree United Country hunting properties are featured each week to give viewers insight into real land-buying and management opportunities.
In this episode of Pay Dirt, we’re digging deeper with Skeeter Cotton. He demonstrates the fascinating process used to turn honey in the hive into honey in the jar. You can do this, too, with very little investment.
You’ll learn how to:
Smoke a hive
Pull frames from the hive
Uncap a frame
Spin the frame
Filter the honey
Bottle the prize
“Okay, you can see here in this plastic clear bottle how clear the honey is,” Cotton said. “No wax or anything gets in it after it goes through that filter. Then we’ll put this cap on it that has a little seal, and it’s ready for a biscuit.”
Ready for a biscuit indeed.
