Josh McDaniel grew up in a small coal mining community in southwest Indiana where he started hunting when he was 8 years old. Josh loved reading hunting magazines like North American Whitetail, Deer & Deer Hunting, and Buck Masters magazine. "I would get so engrossed in the articles, it was like I was watching the hunts play by play." At age 15 when most kids were asking for video games for Christmas, Josh asked for a video camera so he could film hunts and wildlife. He took the camera everywhere he went and filmed everything from strutting gobblers to giant velvet bucks.
However, his commitment to basketball and baseball growing up make it difficult juggling sports and hunting. After graduating high school, he moved to the city to play college basketball, but not being able to hunt much made him hang up his sneakers and move back home. Switching to a local college made it easier to work his class schedule around hunting.
He began freelancing as a camera guy and wrenching on bows. He also met his now wife, Krysten. Josh introduced her to the outdoors and soon after she was hooked! They've been blessed with the opportunity to hunt all over the world, but their passion is bow hunting big mature whitetails. Josh & Krysten together own and operate Shooters Archery in Linton, IN. They are both strongly involved in youth archery and enjoy introducing kids to the sport. They are also head mentors for Ray Howell's Kicking Bear Indiana Chapter, that introduces inner city kids, single parent homes, or just kids that have never had the opportunity to shoot a bow.
Other favorite hobbies are shed hunting, competitive archery, playing basketball, fitness, and fantasy football.
Josh and Krysten's hunts can be seen on Realtree Monster Bucks and The Virtue TV.
