Becomes Organization’s First CEO at ‘Critical Time’
Nick Pinizzotto has been named president and chief executive officer of the National Deer Alliance, a group dedicated to uniting deer hunters, managers and enthusiasts.
Pinizzotto’s previous experience as CEO of the Sportsman’s Alliance and Delta Waterfowl Foundation, coupled with his passion for deer and deer hunting, made him an ideal choice, the organization said in a press release.
“This is a critical time for all deer species in North America, and the formation of NDA couldn’t be more timely,” he said in the release. “As someone with a deep love and respect for deer, I am certainly excited for this opportunity. More importantly, I look forward to rolling up our sleeves and working hard on the issues that impact deer and deer hunters.”
Pinizzotto said on his Facebook page that he’s dedicated much of his personal life to deer hunting and is excited that it’s now his profession.
NDA’s Web page says the group’s goal is “to serve as the unified voice of the modern deer hunter and guardian of North America’s wild deer, wildlife habitat and our hunting heritage.” During the first North American Whitetail Summit, held in March 2014, the Quality Deer Management Association was identified as the group best suited to form a new umbrella organization as an extension of its current mission. Founding members include QDMA, Vista Outdoors, Whitetails Unlimited, the Mule Deer Foundation, the Archery Trade Association, the National Shooting Sports Foundation and the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies.
