A waterspout likely sucked up the fish and dropped them over Texarkana
From warm weather to tornadoes to snow, the South experienced a hodgepodge of weather conditions last week, but one Texas town experienced something quite rare. It literally rained fish.
According to NBCnews.com, the phenomenon occurred Wednesday, Dec. 29, in Texarkana.
Residents who witnessed the strange event shared photos on The City of Texarkana Facebook page and commented on the rare occurrence.
Scientists believe a waterspout likely sucked up the small fish and deposited them over the town. A powerful thunderstorm’s wind currents are also capable of doing the same.
