Imagine waking up to find two mountain lions growling and snarling at each other outside your bedroom window.
According to KRON4, Boulder Creek residents Priscilla Unti and Ben Slaughter were awakened about 2 a.m. Monday by a noise they feared was a prowler outside their bedroom window. When they pulled back the curtains, they discovered a pair of mountain lions just a few feet from their window instead.
"They were magnificent," Priscilla Unti said. "I had never seen one that close before."
Unti said she is diligent about bringing in her dog's food at night, but thinks the mountain lions may have been attracted by her dog Chloe or her neighbor's pets.
Fortunately, Slaughter was able to catch the mountain lions on video using his cellphone without them noticing him.
Even though the lions, which are usually solitary creatures, may seem to dislike one another, they are likely sparking up a romance.
