The large animal destroyed the vehicle’s interior and urinated on a child’s homework
A North Carolina black bear destroyed the interior of a family’s SUV before getting stuck in the broken windshield.
According to Fox Carolina, Ashley McGowin stepped outside her home at 6:30 a.m. Friday, April 8, when she noticed her SUV’s hazard lights were blinking. When she moved closer to investigate, she discovered a black bear trapped in the vehicle.
The family theorizes the bear opened an unlocked door to get into the SUV. Then, once it had destroyed the car’s interior, it attempted to break out through the front windshield but got stuck.
The family recorded the bear as it attempted to free itself.
McGowin said the bear not only damaged the vehicle, but it also urinated on her son’s homework, which was in the SUV.
After it managed to break free from the windshield, the mother bear joined back up with its two cubs.
Neighbors told McGowin they heard honking around midnight, so the bear was probably trapped in the SUV for at least six hours.
