The animal loitered behind the family for 20 minutes but never became aggressive
A Utah family’s hiking trip in Whistler, Canada, took a scary turn when a black bear began following them down the trail.
According to Fox29.com, Brighton Peachey filmed the bear trailing behind her husband and children.
“OK, he’s following you, babe,” she says as her husband slowly moves away from the bear.
The couple shout and wave their arms at the bear in an attempt to scare it off, but the bear seems unfazed.
Peachey wrote in an Instagram post, “We later learned they’ve had to close this area multiple times because of this bear’s increasing aggressive behavior.”
“This was scarier than the time I was mock charged by a bear because I had my kids with me & felt helpless. The bear was not intimidated by us at all, he just kept following us.”
The bear followed the family for 20 minutes before it wandered off.
