Talk about a tense moment! I imagine the kayaker in the video above felt as if he couldn't paddle fast enough when a grizzly bear suddenly charged after him as he made his way down the Elaho River near Squamish, British Columbia.
The video of the encounter also shows a group of rafters heading down the river on Thursday when the bear, which appears to be a juvenile, dashes into the water.
As you can see, the grizzly rushes straight toward the kayaker, who manages to paddle away before the bear gets too close.
A rafting guide who recorded the incident on his GoPro camera told CTV News Vancouver they later noticed there was a dead elk on the side of the river, and he believes the grizzly was likely just trying to protect its food source.
