A group enjoying a two-week-long fishing trip caught the amazing footage during a sunset boat cruise

Boaters in northern Wisconsin caught remarkable video footage of a mama bear carrying three cubs on her back as she swam from one side of the Chippewa Flowage to the other.

CBS 58 reports Dan and Nelda Powers, along with Bluford and Helen Fitch, witnessed the amazing sight in Couderay, Wisconsin, during a two-week-long fishing trip in June. They were enjoying a sunset boat cruise when they spotted the bears.

“What a picture,” one of the group members can be heard saying in the video. “Isn’t that a riot,” says another.

Nelda said they finally decided to share the video online. Since being posted to the Indian Trail Resorts’ Facebook page, the footage has gone viral.

“It makes you feel good when you watch it,” Nelda said.

It’s actually fairly common for a sow bear to shuttle her babies across a large body of water on her back. A simple Google search reveals numbers of videos showing mama black bears, grizzlies, and polar bears exhibiting this behavior. Back in May, I shared video footage showing another sow black bear toting her three cubs across Lake Tahoe one at a time.
