One of the great benefits of keeping beehives on your property, besides the increased food plot production and another income stream, is that you always have plenty of fresh honey in the cupboard.

Store the candy in jars, bags or plastic containers.

In addition to slathering it onto a good breakfast biscuit, one of our favorite things to do with our honey is make this old-fashioned candy. It only has four ingredients, and it's super easy to make. All you need is a heavy pot, a parchment-lined sheet pan and a good thermometer. Honeycomb candy is a little crunchy, a little chewy, and best of all, it tastes like honey.

The candy only has four ingredients.

Ingredients

1/2 cup white granulated sugar

3 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons water

1 teaspoon baking soda

Cooking Instructions

Start by adding the sugar, water and honey to a large pot.

Add water, sugar and honey to a heavy pot over medium heat.

Whisk together well and place onto medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil and continue cooking until it reaches 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

Use a thermometer to monitor the candy temperature to 300 degrees.

Remove the pot from the heat. Sprinkle over the baking soda and whisk it into the candy mixture.

Stir in the baking soda.

Immediately pour onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and allow to cool and harden for an hour.

Pour the hot mixture onto parchment paper.

Break apart and bag or place in a tin or lidded plastic container for storage.
