It's hard for some to believe the wild turkey was once threatened with extinction.
This "Return of the Wild Turkey" documentary by the Missouri Department of Conservation, and posted on YouTube by "MObirds," will take some of you back to a time when America's greatest game bird was less prominent.
I was there, as a kid, and remember it well. Maybe you do, too.
For others, it might just seem a bit dated. I encourage you to give the video a chance if you have time (it's over a half-hour long). If anything, you'll know where wild turkey management has been, and why we enjoy opportunities for turkey hunting in 49 spring states, and 42 in fall and winter.
