Growing up on a farm in rural North Georgia, James Buice chased deer, turkey, ducks, quail and any fish that would hit a popping bug. His dad taught him to always appreciate the natural world as something to be discovered, but never wholly occupied, and that experience was the best teacher.
His passion for waterfowl was kindled many years ago before face paint was cool and people put stickers on shotguns. He cut his teeth chasing ducks in the backwater sloughs and lakes of the Tennessee river system and on the legendary Reelfoot Lake.
