Police Surround House With Intruder, Discover Deer

Watch the intense scene unfold on police bodycams

I'm sure the police who surrounded a house in eastern Texas because they thought they had a burglary in progress were relieved when they discovered the intruder was actually a deer.

According to AP, a woman heard glass breaking in her home and called Lufkin police. She hid in a closet, but then realized she had left her weapon in the kitchen. Officers were worried it could end up in the hands of the suspect.

You can watch the tense scene unfold as police enter the home yelling, Police! Let me see your hands! You then hear them walk through broken glass as they move from room to room in the darkness with flashlights in hand. As they round a corner, they come face to face with one very frightened doe.

You hear a policeman yell, "It's a deer. It's a deer. It's a deer. It's a deer. Stand down." The home's security alarm then goes off and the deer panics and runs into the wall time and again as it tries to find a way out of the house. The police are able to eventually steer the deer out the front door.
