Minnesota Investigating Report Of Illegal Hunting On Property Owned By Dentist Who Shot Cecil the Lion

Cecil the lionMinnesota's Department of Natural Resources is investigating a report of potentially illegal hunting activity on land owned by the dentist who was criticized for shooting a well-known lion in Zimbabwe named Cecil.

Kare11.com reports that while hunting next to the property owned by Bloomington dentist Walter Palmer, Leah Thompson saw what she believes was illegal hunting activity on Palmer's property. She told KVLY-TV she saw vehicles chasing deer on his property several times last weekend during the deer season opener.

Chasing or herding deer with a vehicle is illegal in Minnesota. Thompson claims she saw pickup trucks herding deer back onto Palmer's property.

Palmer issued a statement Thursday claiming he wasn't on the property after 11 a.m. Saturday, and didn't operate any of the vehicles described in the complaint. He said the complaint is an attack on an innocent man.

So, do you believe Thompson fabricated the tale that poachers were on Palmer's property or that Palmer is not telling the truth?
